EDG Arts- Presents

Culture Night Local Emerging Artist 2024  -Damien Ainscough

This Exhibition of works by a young local artist showcases  a selection of  work  types from digital to meticulously hand drawn work.

Damien Ainscough, is a 19 year old self-taught artist and is very passionate about creating art pieces based on pop culture and is inspired by video games such as Resident Evil or sci-if movies such as Marvel.

Damien is currently preparing a portfolio for a tattoo apprenticeship. ‘Becoming a tattoo artist is one of my dreams as I can tattoo my own designs or commissioned designs onto people who find my art interesting and want it on their bodies, which would be fascinating to do’ .

Art commissions include work for individuals and organisations,  including poster and logo designs for business i.e. Trim Family Resource Centre, and Enfield GAA and designs of original characters.

Damien creates work on Procreate, an app designed for artists on iPads, and also uses traditional drawing techniques. ‘My favourite  medium traditionally is sketching and line work, which I’ve adapted to my work for my tattoo portfolio’.

Examples of this line work are presented to give insight into the process of creation. Examples of digital , and traditional drawing on exhibit for Culture Night in the Enfield library from 3.30pm and window display till 11pm.
